Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Read-o-Bot collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Our approach is simple: we collect as little as possible — only what we need to run the Service and to let you sign in.

Information we collect

We keep data collection to a minimum. Depending on how you use Read-o-Bot, we may collect:

  • Account information: when you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive a limited set of details from that provider — typically your name, email address, and a unique account identifier. We request only the minimum needed to create and secure your account.
  • Waitlist information: if you join our waitlist, we store the email address you give us and the date you signed up.
  • Analytics (only with consent): if you accept analytics cookies, we collect aggregated, non-identifying information about how the site is used, through Google Analytics. If you decline, these cookies are not set.

We never receive or store your Google or Apple password — sign-in is handled securely by those providers.

How we use your information

We use the information above only to:

  • create your account and let you sign in securely;
  • operate, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • contact you about the waitlist or important changes to the Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it except as needed to provide the Service (for example, with the sign-in providers below) or where required by law.

Sign-in providers

We rely on Google and Apple to sign you in. When you choose to sign in, you share information with them under their own privacy policies, and we receive only the limited profile information described above. You can disconnect Read-o-Bot from your Google or Apple account at any time through that provider's account settings.

Children's privacy

Read-o-Bot creates stories for children, but accounts are meant for adults. Sign-in and account data belong to the parent or guardian who sets up the account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children for the purpose of creating an account.

Data retention

We keep your information only for as long as we need it to provide the Service, or as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your account information at any time, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain uses of it. You can manage analytics consent at any time through the cookie banner on our site. To exercise any of these rights, just contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll take additional steps to let you know.
